Well it's a long, not-so-hot summer, and the perfect time to begin a project I've been lusting after for a while now.
I especially love the massive bow on this pattern, it's got to be my favourite Vintage Vogue.
So, after a quick bus journey to my local fabric store, I'm armed with 8 metres of gold crinkle taffeta and cream lining and I'm ready to begin.
After a day's dabbling, the bodice is more or less complete.
I wish I had a mannequinn to put it on to show the shape better, but sadly I do not...
So here's a lovely picture of my shower, as well as the bodice front.
Shockingly, I've never done darts before, and the pattern requires 4, so I was quite nervous that I was going to wreck the whole thing.
Luckily, I think they turned out okay.
I love how low the back is on this pattern!
Machine buttonholes were another first for me. They're a little bit on the large side but I guess I'll just have to wait and see if everything is in proportion.
